Rodale strives to create an internship experience for students that is rewarding both for career development and personal enlightenment. By creating an opportunity for talented, aspiring professionals, Rodale hopes to build a new generation of leaders.

Throughout the year, Rodale offers internship opportunities based in its Emmaus, PA headquarters and its New York City office.

Rodale interns will:

  • Gain hands-on experience in the publishing industry

    Summer Program
    The Summer Program runs 11 weeks from June to August. During the Summer Program, paid or academic internships are offered. Internships are supplemented with a variety of programs, including orientation, library training, organized and informal social activities and weekly lunch-and-learn sessions.


    Six-month Internships
    Several magazines offer six-month internships during the year; usually starting in January or June. The six-month internships are paid, based on 40 hours per week.

    For-credit Internships
    Academic internships are available year round, during the school semesters. To be eligible for an academic internship, a student must receive academic credit for the time they intern at Rodale.


    Program Requirements
    To be eligible for an internship, individuals must meet the following criteria at the time of application:
  • Must be attending an accredited college or university full-time
  • Must be in their junior or senior year or a graduate student at an accredited college or university or a recent grad (within a year)
  • Must have prior internship experience
