H1N1 vaccine
This or That: Swine Flu Shot or Not?
H1N1 (swine flu) vaccination has gained more attention than any other flu vaccine program. So should you go for the shot, or take your chances without it?

Don't play Russian roulette with your health; go the route that puts you at least risk.
Preventing swine flu takes more than a mask.
RODALE NEWS, EMMAUS, PA—Should you or shouldn't you? It seems like everyone has an opinion on whether the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine is safe enough, with everyone from comedian Bill Maher to medical professionals casting doubt on a vaccine that could prevent a worldwide pandemic.
"Fear of vaccines is a luxury in societies that are no longer seeing smallpox, polio, measles, mumps," says David L. Katz, MD, director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center and a preventive medicine expert on Men's Health magazine's advisory board. "You forget how bad infectious disease can be." Yet, reports in the news media of people suffering from the swine flu show that most cases are mild and lead to a few days of discomfort, leaving many of us wondering if a rushed-through vaccine is worth the risk.
This: H1N1 Vaccine
Public and state health officials have said repeatedly that the H1N1 vaccine is safe, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has not received any reports of adverse reactions, other than soreness at the site of injection and mild fever, which are usually expected with all types of flu vaccines. In terms of safety, the H1N1 vaccine was produced in the same manner as all flu vaccines. Every year, the seasonal-flu vaccine is produced with the most prevalent strain of the virus, and the H1N1 vaccine simply has the H1N1 strain rather than the seasonal-flu virus. "The basic composition is the same as the seasonal-flu vaccine," says Dr. Katz. Each strain of flu is tracked seasonally, he says, and vaccines are usually developed about six months before flu season. "This vaccine is not that much different," he says. "It's not as if we went from years to months. We went from six months to three or four months."

H1N1 Vaccine Recipient
I thought it pertinent to note, that as I am writing this comment I am on hour forty-one after having had the H1N1 Vaccine injection administered. So far I experienced a rush of energy during the first six hours, then muscle aches and mild/moderate nausea following a bit of swelling and pain at the injection site. Otherwise a mild fever seems to have developed and I am just now feeling a bit under, but not by any means full-bore flu infested. Yes it is uncomfortable, but manageable at this time. Consequently I am a 35 year old caucasian male with a three year old son who has also gotten his first of the two injections.
I'd rather die first.....
While I've had a number of vaccines in the past due to my parents lib views and ignorance as to what they were agreeing to have me injected with I will NEVER again have a vaccine unless the doctor and the manufacture can guarantee me that it has never been exposed to diploid cells stemming from aborted fetuses. Aside from the moral implications, which are profound, it also causes cancer to form as a result of these cells. It would be like asking to trade the flu for something much, much worse.
Thanks... but I'd rather die by the grace of God than by the 3rd Reich of Obama.

Swine Flu Vaccine
A friend told me that we had a swine fluvaccine in the 70's and that because we had it then, we don't need another one now. I'm wondering if this is true.
