Ronan Gardiner is the chief advertising officer of Rodale Inc. He is responsible for overseeing an integrated group that focuses on print and digital advertising and marketing, domestic licensing, research, and events across all brands.
He assumed the role after having served as VP, publisher, and managing director at Men’s Health, where he helped drive advertising growth and brought some of the brand’s most notable campaigns and experiences to life, such as The Ultimate Men’s Health Guy Search. Gardiner joined Rodale as the advertising director of Men’s Health in 2005 and quickly ascended through multiple roles to associate vice president and associate publisher of the brand in 2009.
Prior to joining Rodale, Gardiner served for 3 years as advertising director at Wenner Media’s Men’s Journal and previously served as the executive director of travel and automotive for Condé Nast’s Gourmet magazine. Originally from the United Kingdom, Gardiner has lived in New York for more than 16 years. He relocated to the U.S. from Hong Kong, where he led the operations of media representation companies Matthews & Associates and Clinch Leece Advertising Sales for the Asia-Pacific region. An avid soccer player who loves to travel, Gardiner is an accomplished triathlete who enjoys competing in Men’s Health’s Rugged Maniac and Life Time Tri Series.
