RODALE NEWS, SILVER SPRING, MD—Over the years, when the American first lady, whatever her party affiliation, entertains the wife of the head of state of another country, she might take her to see a special exhibit at a museum, to visit the children’s ward of a hospital, or to meet wounded servicemen. Not Michelle Obama.
There she was Wednesday morning with Margarita Zavala, wife of the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón—who is here on a state visit—jumping, skipping, hopping, and playing parachute with a bunch of second graders in the gym of the New Hampshire Estates Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD.
Mrs. Zavala was game, though after the first exercise, she took off her coat.
It was a photo opportunity guaranteed to make the evening news and today’s front pages.

Mrs. Obama misses no opportunity to promote her Let’s Move campaign to reduce childhood obesity. For this event, she chose to visit a school with classes from Head Start through second grade, in a low-income neighborhood with a large Hispanic population, where there are many bilingual signs. And where there are small classes and a number of enrichment programs.
The school earned an Agriculture Department Healthier U.S. School Challenge Award last year because it met certain criteria: increased use of whole grain products and fruits and vegetables in school meals, a physical activity component to the daily program, and more than 70 percent of the students participating in the school lunch program.
I think we need to bring more
I think we need to bring more ideas for this purpose. Involvement of young people can be handy in this regard. I am happy to find a good post here.

Involvement in social life
You see, all these political actions have an educational and civilian spirit awareness raising purpose. Overall, it comes as a solid attachment to all social values citizens have been believing in. Communication, connection to the community life, solidarity and involvement in education and aspects of the social life. This is what Aaron DelSignore has on his list of objectives for the next period. Because this is what politics is basically about. Staying permanently in touch with the people you represent, so as to be able to understand their needs, their area of perspectives and opportunities.
Proud
Personally, I am very proud of Michelle Obama just as I was of Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Bush, Nancy Reagan, Rosalyn Carter and all who came before them. Being First Lady is a noble and unique opportunity to get people mobilized on a bipartisan field to enhance lifestyles and mitigate problems that cut across all socio-economic strata in our country. I applaud their efforts vigorously. They don't have to push things through Congress or make deals behind closed doors. All they have to do is bring the problems and the solutions to the attention of the American people and keep them there. It allows the citizenry to come together on efforts to make things better for all of us without regard for re-election, coalitions or political polls.
I also support Mr. Obama's efforts to bring fairness and common sense to government. Maybe if Mr. Wade hates the government so much he should try another country and see how he fares there. I'd be happy to loan him a suitcase and help him pack. . .
Obama with schools
I really do not think that Michelle Obama is concerned with sustainable farming and agriculture. I doubt that she is concerned about farmers or local food production. she might think she does, but she does not. I think she is like her husband Obama, who lies. Obama, who is interested in Big Business, does not care about oil spills, the ocean or biodynamic farms. They are interested in Socialism, and the politics, bad politics and greed for mass production at the industrial level. They prey on the weak and the lazy population who looks to government to take care of them. They also support corruption in big business like Monsanto. Their buddy, Al Gore, is also a phony. He just bought a new home with his $8 million he stole from somewhere, I am sure. It is time to vote them out. They are all so desperate to surround themselves with slaves to their own agenda. They do not uphold our Constitution.
