Olympic Runner Ryan Hall and Premier Distance Runner Sara Hall Set to Attend Runner’s World Half & Festival

The Hall family will be joined by their four children to attend events throughout the weekend, Oct. 20–21

EMMAUS, PA (April 14, 2017) — Runner’s World, the largest and most influential media brand in the running space, today announced that Olympian Ryan Hall and professional track athlete Sara Hall will attend the Runner’s World Half & Festival, joined by their four daughters, Hana, Mia, Jasmine, and Lily. The sixth annual Runner’s World Half & Festival, presented by Altra, will take place Oct. 20–21 at the ArtsQuest Center at the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem, PA.

The announcement was made today at the Runner’s World pop-up store on Boylston Street ahead of the 121st Boston Marathon. Chief running officer Bart Yasso was joined by Ryan Hall to share the news. Yasso, the “mayor of running,” is set to retire at the end of this year, and the Boston Marathon is part of his farewell tour, which also includes the Half & Festival this fall.

“Sara and I are excited to bring our family out to Bethlehem to join Runner’s World for the Half & Festival,” says Ryan Hall. “We’ve had a long relationship with Runner’s World and look forward to meeting runners in the community.”

Ryan Hall, the current American half marathon record holder (59:43 AR), is a two-time U.S. Olympic marathoner. He posted the second-fastest American marathon time (2:06:17) at the 2008 London Marathon. He was also the 2008 Olympic Trials Marathon champion (2:09:02); 2006 USA Cross Country champion—12K (34:38); and 2012 Olympic Team Trials Marathon runner-up (2:09:30). Mostly recently, he made headlines by running seven marathons on seven continents in 7 days.

Sara Hall, a professional track athlete, was the 2012 U.S. National Cross Country Champion. She appeared at the 2004 Olympic Trials and earned a gold medal at the Pan American Games in the steeplechase. She represented the U.S. at three World Indoor Track and Field Championships and a World Cross Country Championship. Most recently, she finished sixth at the Tokyo Marathon and set a new PR (2:28:26).

At the Runner’s World Half & Festival, the Hall family is expected to participate in several activities that will be open to the public, including races and seminars. All four of the Hall children will be attending weekend events, following the news that Runner’s World will hold the free-entry kids run on a Saturday for the first time in the race’s history, encouraging a family-friendly weekend.
