Runner’s World Announces Pop-Up Experience for 121st Boston Marathon

Located at 899 Boylston Street from Friday, April 14 to Sunday, April 16

EMMAUS, PA, and NEW YORK, NY (April 3, 2017)—Runner’s World, the largest and most influential media brand in the running space, today announced its first-ever pop-up experience at the 121st Boston Marathon.

Located at 899 Boylston Street and open to the public from April 14–16, the Runner’s World pop-up experience will offer a full schedule of events all weekend, including panel discussions with legendary Boston runners such as Kathrine Switzer; yoga, core-training, self-defense, and prerace meditation and relaxation classes led by fitness experts; book signings with authors such as Shalane Flanagan of Run Fast, Eat Slow; and exclusive, limited-edition Runner’s World merchandise created for the marathon.

“We are excited for our readers to be able to experience the Boston Marathon with us in a new way this year,” says Runner’s World managing director Jessica Murphy. “By bringing our brand to life through newly branded RW Live experiences, we are looking to add new dimension to our relationship with runners, bringing them closer to us and the community.”

Runner’s World editors and staff will be on-site all weekend, providing runners with the opportunity to meet with Runner’s World editor at large and 1968 Boston Marathon Winner Amby Burfoot, chief running officer Bart Yasso, and editor-in-chief David Willey.

There will also be excusive giveaways for magazine subscribers, including (1) a limited-edition pair of running gloves with the names of iconic Boston Marathon towns on the fingers to the first 100 subscribers who visit the pop-up each day with their issue of Runner’s World and (2) a Boston: The Documentary global premiere giveaway of 20 tickets to 10 subscribers who submit a picture of themselves reading the magazine. The winners will be selected by the editors.
