Media Industry Veteran is the Brand’s First New York-based Publisher
Rodale Inc. today announced that Ellen Carucci has been named Publisher, Organic Gardening, effective immediately. In this role, Carucci will oversee sales and marketing direction with specific focus on building out the advertising base through strategic partnerships and brand activations. With interest in accessible, organic living continuing to grow, Carucci will be Organic Gardening’s first New York-based publisher as part of the brand’s direction to grow visibility on a more mainstream stage. She will report to SVP/Group Publisher Chris Lambiase.

Carucci was most recently the launch publisher for the Modern Farmer quarterly at Modern Farmer Media, a position that whetted her appetite for her role at Organic Gardening. She brings a wealth of experience from her tenure at Condé Nast, where she managed sales efforts at The New Yorker and House & Garden before taking leadership positions as the Associate Publisher at Vogue and then the Advertising Director at GQ. Remarkable sales growth and program development success on the brand side through Carucci’s direction led to her promotion to corporate management as Executive Director, Condé Nast Media Group, and ultimately to the company’s Team Leader Program. Designed to capture additional revenue from emerging and target accounts, the Team Leader Program saw stellar growth under Carucci as she increased sales revenue 189% over the course of her five-year role. An avid gardener, Carucci cultivates organic vegetables and flowers in Short Beach, CT, when not in residence in Manhattan.

On the heels of Molly O’Keefe’s promotion to Publisher of Runner’s World and Zack Grice’s promotion to Associate Publisher of Bicycling, Carucci’s appointment fills a key position to help round out Rodale’s thriving publishing team. With a diverse and talented team in place, the publishing group will look to further expand an integrated strategy that capitalizes on print, digital, live events and custom content to create engaging and impactful campaigns. The company just brought in its best first half print revenue in history; through September Rodale is up +11% in ad pages and +22% in print revenue (Source: PIB).
