Men’s Health Urbanathlon & Festival Returns To Chicago This Fall With Celebrity Host Tyrese Gibson

NEW YORK, NY, September 10, 2009 – Men’s Health will host its annual signature event, the Men’s Health UrbanathlonTM & Festival, on Saturday, October 17 in Chicago with celebrity host Tyrese Gibson. The event, now in its third year in Chicago, covers a 10.5-mile course that combines traditional road race elements with obstacle course components against the backdrop of iconic city landmarks like Soldier Field and Navy Pier. Race highlights include weaving up and down the bleachers at Soldier Field, a tire obstacle at Navy Pier, and Marine Hurdles on the beach. The Urbanathlon Festival, which immediately follows the race and is free and open to the public, will feature live entertainment, health and wellness expos, interactive sports and concessions, as well as samplings and demonstrations by a range of vendors.

Celebrity host Tyrese Gibson-star of the summer blockbusters Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen-is in the upcoming Screen Gems film Legion with Dennis Quaid, Paul Bettany, and Kate Walsh and is publishing a comic book entitled Mayhem through Image Comics. Gibson will help get more than 4,000 Urbanathletes prepared to conquer the ten-mile course, warming up with them and sounding the starting gun to kick off the race.
