Rodale Inc., the world’s leading healthy living company, and Rodale Books today announced the launch of Rodale Wellness, an online content and commerce site for wellness seekers. Building on the success of two previously independent Rodale Books properties, Fitbie (focus on fitness, workouts and weight loss) and Rodale News (focus on health and wellness with an emphasis on sustainability and natural living), Rodale Wellness is a destination for people interested in all-things-wellness, where visitors can find everything from community and inspiration to life-changing products and access to the world’s top healthy living influencers.
In its first two months, the site has nearly 2 million page views a month, over 200K members across various social platforms, over 150k subscribers and includes 6 channels: Health & Healing, Food, Weight Loss, Fitness, Mind & Spirit, Living Well which celebrate all aspects of self-improvement.
“Rodale Wellness is another way for us to help our customers lead better lives and further assert our authority in the landscape we helped create,” said Scott Schulman, President of Rodale Inc. “We are excited to reach existing audiences already interfacing with our brands, as well as entirely new group of users looking for intelligent and inspiring content and products.”
Said Mary Ann Naples, SVP Publisher Rodale Books, “Rodale Wellness serves as a vibrant place to discover the newest and best information in the wellness space, from leading experts–which include our own books and authors. This is a key way for Rodale Books to stay ahead in an industry that is constantly evolving. In addition, our approach and point of view is that we’re on this journey with the reader. We’re giving them a trusted place to learn, discover, experiment and find inspiration in the rapidly changing world of health and wellness.”
The site will roll out with original content by Rodale authors and outside experts, plus:
· Recurring features include Celebrity Soap Box where a celebrity passionate about health “sounds off” about a cause, Playlist, a workout playlist curated by fitness gurus and the Rodale Wellness team, and ongoing video features including We Try It, where Rodale employees try the latest food and workout trends and The Right Way, demos showing how to do fitness activities the right way.
· A suite of products that includes: challenges, e-courses, books and summit. The first summit, Unleash Your Greatness with The School of Greatness author and podcast host Lewis Howes, is launching this November.
· Daily newsletter to subscribers along with a weekly Wellness in Action newsletter directly from editors and authors focusing on a wellness topic.
· Rodale Influencer Network: a vibrant and engaged Facebook community of users who have access to exclusive content, and interface with each other as well as Rodale Wellness and Rodale Books staff. This group has enabled the edit team to learn from their core community about which health topics they most want to hear about, and how Rodale Wellness can best serve them.
