RODALE LAUNCHES BLC MOBILE,
THE BIGGEST LOSER CLUB.COM COMPANION MOBILE SERVICE

New York–Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009-Rodale, Inc. announced today the launch of BLC Mobile, the companion mobile service to its highly successful BiggestLoserClub.com online program. Compatible with most WAP 2.X and mobile Internet browsers, the BLC Mobile service is fully integrated with the Club site, and is free with membership. The Biggest Loser Club (www.biggestloserclub.com ) is the companion subscription Web site to the NBC hit reality series The Biggest Loser, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Launched in September 2005 by Rodale, NBC and Reveille, the Club features the diet and fitness program followed by contestants of the NBC show, but adapted for home use. Ali Vincent, the first female winner from Season 5 of The Biggest Loser, acts as spokesperson for the Club.

The BLC Mobile service allows members to access and update key Club website features via their phones, including:

· Weighing In

· Checking Weight-Loss Progress

· Getting Recommended Daily Meals, and Swapping for Other Club-Approved Options

· Logging Meals Actually Eaten

· Accessing Weekly Shopping Lists

· Getting Recommended Daily Workouts, and Swapping for Other Club-Approved Exercises

· Logging Workouts Actually Completed

· Seeing Daily Motivational Tips

BLC Mobile is the perfect companion to the Biggest Loser Club online program,” said Gregg Michaelson, EVP of Customer Marketing. ” It makes staying on track even easier because it’s fully integrated with the Club site. It’s exciting, because weekly shopping lists, exercise programs and nutritional information available on the Club Web site can now be accessed via the phone, which is perfect for members who don’t have immediate access to their laptops or desktops.”

“The Biggest Loser Club is an incredible tool to help you adopt a healthy lifestyle and the new mobile feature makes it even more flexible as you can now take it with you,” said Mark Koops, Reveille’s Managing Director and Co-Head of Domestic Television. “Now there is no excuse for not staying on track!”

Members of the TheBiggestLoserClub.com website can start using the BLC Mobile service immediately. On the Club website, members enter their 10-digit mobile number, then click to receive a text message with a link directly to the BLC Mobile service. Members log into the BLC Mobile service with the same username and password they use to log into the Club member website.

Once started, members can get to the BLC Mobile service any time by typing blcmobile.com into their mobile browser and logging in. BLC Mobile and the online Club membership are fully integrated. Members can log on at the Club web site or use BLC Mobile to change their preferences, fitness phases and activity levels, and vice versa, since the Club site and member’s mobile device are always in sync.

By logging into BLC Mobile, members can access their recommended daily meal plans, add meals to their food log, include items from favorites lists, log food swaps, and search the food database to learn calorie counts for foods when reviewing a restaurant menu. Members can also view their starting weight, current weight, and how far they’ve come toward meeting their goals, along with current recommended daily calorie intake, cardio exercise choices, and log burned calories.

The member’s weekly shopping list on the Club’s website is also available via BLC Mobile. Just like the Club website, the member’s shopping list is always up-to-date to reflect the foods listed in the member’s recommended daily meal plans. New Club members must first enter their diet goals, and food and fitness preferences on the Club website to gain access to their customized meal plans, shopping lists and workout plans via their phone.

BLC Mobile requires a basic data plan with a member’s mobile carrier to obtain access. Basic data plan costs vary from carrier to carrier, but typically range between $4.99 and $6.99 per month, with charges appearing on the member’s mobile bill. If members don’t have a basic data plan for their phone, they’ll need to contact their mobile carrier to verify the costs and arrange set up.

Membership in the BiggestLoserClub.com is free to online subscribers of the biggestloserclub.com. Members of the BiggestLoserClub.com are advised to always consult with a physician or healthcare provider before starting any new exercise, nutrition, or supplementation program.
