Rodale Names David Kang SVP/General Manager, Online Subscription Services

Appointment Comes as Rodale Sees Strong Growth in Paid Premium Content Web Sites

NEW YORK, August 7, 2007 — David Kang has been named SVP and General Manager, Online Subscription Services for Rodale Inc. He begins his appointment immediately.

In his new role, Kang will be responsible for the P&L performance, acquisition, and retention efforts for all Rodale online subscription businesses, including, Bob Greene’s, VH1’s,, and Rodale properties including Men’s Health Personal Trainer, Abs Diet Online, and Sugar Solution Online. Kang will lead the company’s acquisition of new properties and its development of new products as Rodale continues to grow its online subscription services business.

“The online subscription business has emerged as a key revenue stream for Rodale, and David’s expertise in online marketing, customer acquisition, and online brand management will help leverage Rodale’s online success to develop and grow our portfolio of online subscription properties,” said Bill Ostroff, President, Rodale Interactive and Chief Marketing Officer.

Kang comes to Rodale from Major League Baseball Advanced Media where he held the position of SVP, Entertainment and served as the chief operating officer for Entertainment joint ventures. Prior to that, he worked as SVP, Strategic Development and New Media for the artist management company The Firm. Kang also worked as a Media & Entertainment consultant for McKinsey & Company, SVP, New Technology & Strategic Development for BMG Entertainment. Kang has a Ph.D. from Harvard Business School/Harvard University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, an M.A. from Harvard University and an A.B. from Stanford University.
